Services
PlanIt works with towns, schools, and project partners to tackle complex challenges involving land use, water systems, education, and sustainable community development. By aligning strategy, funding, and community priorities, PlanIt helps turn bold ideas into implementable projects.
Community & Comprehensive Planning
PlanIt works with communities to develop clear, actionable long-range plans that guide growth, infrastructure investment, and land use decisions. Planning processes are designed to actively involve residents, local leaders, and youth voices, so plans reflect community priorities while supporting long-term sustainability, habitat protection, and responsible land stewardship.
Water, Land & Environmental Strategy
Many community decisions sit at the intersection of water supply, land use, and environmental stewardship. PlanIt helps communities and project teams evaluate options, coordinate partners, and develop strategies that support long-term water reliability and responsible landscape management. Experience working directly with agricultural landscapes also informs this work, grounding planning decisions in the realities of land stewardship, habitat protection, and water systems.
Grants & Project Funding
PlanIt helps organizations turn ideas into funded projects. Services include identifying funding opportunities, shaping competitive proposals, writing grant applications, and supporting implementation—securing more than $7 million in grant funding.
Denver Public Schools Imaginarium Design Challenge
Secured and oversaw $750,000 to support 30 teams developing student-centered learning innovations. Supported teams in project planning, budgeting, and implementation —resulting in 23 minimum viable projects that advanced equity.
Schools & Learning Environments
PlanIt works with students, educators, school leaders, and communities to redesign schools around the needs of learners. This work aligns strategy, culture, schedules, budgets, and learning environments to create educational experiences that put students at the center.
Parks, Trails & Community Identity
Parks, trails, and public spaces help define a community’s character while supporting habitat, recreation, and quality of life. PlanIt supports planning and design for parks, trails, signage systems, and placemaking strategies that strengthen local identity.
Planning parks, trails, signage, and public spaces that strengthen community identity and connection. Our designs prioritize accessibility and a sense of shared place for residents.
Interpretive signage designed to help parks and trails communicate local ecology, habitat systems, and community stories. In some projects, youth and community members helped shape the narratives these places tell.
Public Engagement
Effective planning depends on meaningful, active participation from the full community. PlanIt designs engagement processes that reach residents who are not typically involved in local decision-making—including youth, people with lower incomes, residents who speak languages other than English, and people with disabilities—so plans reflect the voices and experiences of the whole community.
