About PlanIt

Connecting people, place, and ideas to turn visions into real projects.

PlanIt helps communities turn good ideas into real projects.

We work at the intersection of land use, water, education, and community development—bringing strategy, creativity, and funding together to help partners move from vision to action.

Our work might involve helping a town build its long-term vision, designing student-centered learning experiences with educators, improving wildlife habitat and water systems, or securing funding to bring a community project to life.

Often, it’s all of those things at once.

How We Work

Good projects start with curiosity, collaboration, and a little fun.

Workshops turn ideas into action—students designing and installing bat boxes in local parks, regional experts working alongside local business owners at economic vitality happy hours, and community members shaping solutions together in real time.

From there, we help translate those ideas into clear strategies, partnerships, and funding  -- aligning the pieces needed to move projects forward.

Experience

Raindrops on Leaf

PlanIt draws on experience across municipal planning, environmental strategy, school innovation, and grant development.

Projects have helped communities and school systems:

  • Reimagine learning environments around learners and relationships

  • Align land use, water planning, and environmental stewardship

  • Design parks, trails, and community spaces that support both people and wildlife

  • Secure more than $7 million in grant funding to move projects from planning into reality

A Systems Perspective

PlanIt’s work is informed by experience across education, environmental policy, and planning disciplines—applying a systems perspective to projects that connect people, place, learning, and the natural environment.

Because the best plans don’t live on shelves.

They become places people use, ideas people build on, and projects people are proud of.
